Fabian Racca – Argentina ’78 Re-Remix

This piece is a synthesis of 3 different tracks of a sound art work called Argentina ’78 remix (http://radioartnet.net/11/2011/05/05/fabian-racca-argentina-78-remix/) . Its only source of sound were old vinyl recordings issued during the military dictatorship (1976-1983) in Argentina, which contain the transmission of the football World Cup 1978 and its soundtrack. Through various techniques of collage, sampling, DJing, change pitch and speed among others, it exposes the true message of those recordings and mass psychological manipulation through sound, used by repressive forces, which left 30,000 missing people and ideological persecution. While goals where shouted, people were tortured and shot near the stadiums.
